Tips for a happy Target Cashier.
1. Please, do not leave your carts at the end of our lanes.
You have to go back to the door anyway to exit the building.
Ya know, the door where alllllll the carts are kept anyway...
Even if you can carry your bags yourself, take the cart back.
Please and thank you.
2. Please do not get mad at us when you fail to put a bar down before or after your order and we start ringing up the person's stuff behind you.
It's not our fault.
It's yours.
And it's easy to fix.
So breathe, and tell us what items need to be taken off your order.
We can do that.
3. Please don't lack on common courtesy.
It is polite to say, "Thank you, you too." after we tell you to have a nice day.
It's not polite to say, "Okay." And then walk away.
Rude.
4. If you don't want items that you placed in your cart,
pleeeaaaase give them to your friendly cashier.
Do not "hide" them in the magazine racks.
Or set them on top of the coolers.
Or stuff them behind the cereal boxes at the end of our lanes.
We are more than happy to take them off your hands for you.
5. Don't get mad at your cashier when you try to "cheat the system" with coupons and we catch you.
Believe it or not, we do know what we're doing.
We do know how coupons work.
Don't try and trick us.
That whole extreme couponing thing?
Totally awesome - - if you do it fair and right.
Just sayin'.
6. When you do get mad, and start yelling at the cashier demanding to speak to a manager,
and said manager explains to you the exact. same. thing. as your cashier,
it's wonderful that you respect the manager enough to talk politely and sweet.
But please have the respect enough for the cashier who's head you bit off to apologize.
We appreciate it.

Yep that's a pretty good list along with the comments by Kristie & Mallory.
ReplyDeleteTarget is my third place to shop after The Mans Mall (Fleet Farm) & Menards because, contrary to popular belief, there are a few things that I need that Fleet Farm doesn't have & it's not all about Saving BIG Money!
It's about being on the Up & Up and the Third Tries a Charm. ;)
