Want some wedding updates?
Good.
Cuz I wanna give them!
Here's my wedding checklist...and what's completed so far!
1. My dress!
I'm in love with my dress.
Probably a good thing, right?
I can't say much on here about it
(Because Thomas reads this, and I want you all to be surprised too!)
But just know I think it's gorgeous and perfect.
But I may be biased... ;)
2. The Bridesmaids!
My bridesmaids will all be in different colors, and they are as follows:
Christie (MOH) - Shamrock Green
Erica - Fuschia
Mallory - Persian Plum
Cassi - Sunflower
Jenn - Royal Blue
The color scheme of my wedding: Fireworks.
Bold. Colorful. Fun.

That's what I'm going for.
The men will all be matching their ladies too!
3. The Cake!
The cake was our first big accomplishment!
We're ordering from Jack's bakery in Brooklyn Park.
If you've never been to Jack's bakery, GO!!
Everything they have is delicious!
It's three square tiers.
The tiers are all at offset angles.
Each tier is going to be different colors.
There will be a colored ribbon at the base, and then matching color swirls and dots.
The base tier is marble cake with chocolate mousse filling.
The middle is white with lemon filling.
And the top (which is for mine and Tom's one year anniversary), is marble with chocolate fudge filling.
MMMMMM!!!
4. Venue!
Well the venue was super easy:
the church.
It's free and, well, our church!
Not much more to think about there.
Thomas and I will be sealed in the St. Paul temple about a week or so after our civil ceremony.
So, both the ceremony and the reception will be at the church.
Works perfectly!
5. Flowers!
Flowers are our latest achievement!
We met with a florist yesterday, and, SUCCESS!
She was amazing.
Her name is Maureen.
{Check out her website here!}
She is incredibly easy to work with.
Tulips, if you don't know, are my favorite flower!
And everyone told me I wouldn't be able to have them because they're a spring flower.
Well, turns out, they're ideal for winter weddings (along with roses) because they are so sturdy.
AND they come in just about every color.
Can you say, "Perfect?!"
Um, yes.
So, the bouquets will be a collage of colors with an array of flowers,
But, of course, featuring my tulips!
7. Photographer!
Still looking for one of those too..
Anyone interested in being a photographer?
If you've got a hobby, or just starting a business, let me know!
I'd love to have someone with a fresh modern eye take our pictures.
MMMMMM!!!
Oh, and we got a separate carrot cake with cream cheese frosting because that's my future hubby's favorite.
Oh, and we have the {perfect} cake topper.
Literally.
My mom was like, "Oh you HAVE to get that one! It's got Tom and Katie written all over it!"
But I want that to be a surprise for ya'll too, so not spilling details bout that on here.
So, look for pics of that in about five months!!

She is incredibly easy to work with.
You give her your budget, and she'll do anything and everything to get what you want into that budget.
She's won awards for her flowers, and has been voted #1 in MN a handful of times.
She's had pictures of her bouquets and work featured in all sorts of bridal magazines.
But the best news about the flowers??
{I GET TO HAVE TULIPS!!}Tulips, if you don't know, are my favorite flower!
And everyone told me I wouldn't be able to have them because they're a spring flower.

6. Caterer!
Alright, the caterer we're still searching for...We've met with a couple, but my parents want to meet with a couple more.
I'm not picky bout the caterer at all, I'm leaving that up to the parentals.
As long as it tastes good, I'm down.
Word.
7. Photographer!
Still looking for one of those too..
Anyone interested in being a photographer?
If you've got a hobby, or just starting a business, let me know!
I'd love to have someone with a fresh modern eye take our pictures.
...and someone who won't cost us thousands of dollars...lol.
8. Invitations!
Another hurdle we have yet to complete...kinda...
Thomas created these wonderful invitations on photoshop.
Only problem is trying to find somewhere to print them.
Trouble is, they're double sided. Apparently that's hard to do...
And we want it for a reasonable price.
9. Decorations!
Decorations are the last big hurdle.
(I think...)
I have a vision of what I want the reception to look like,
It's just actually carrying it out and getting the decorations.
It's the execution that's lacking.
But, we have the favors for the table ordered.
Check!
And the centerpieces figured out.
Check!
So it's just making the gym, well, not look like a gym.
So that's the wedding progress thus far!
I think we've got a good chunk down.
And still with a month before I have to head off to school.
Still time to do even more.
I'm pleased with how everything's cruising along.
It's all super exciting!!
Less than five months I will be {Mrs. Macmillan}!!
So. Cool.
Katie, This sounds amazing! You'll be the most beautifullest Bride ever! =)
ReplyDeleteVista Print for the wedding invitations. That's where my mom gets her cards and everything printed and they do double sided for a very reasonable cost!
