Apples.
Manzanas.
Les Pommes.
Mele.
Apples.
Supposedly they're really good for you.
Like, really good.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away, right?
Apparently, that's right.
Apples, apparently, are known to help prevent a boatload of cancers.
Lung cancer.
Breast cancer.
Colon cancer.
And more.
There's belief they help with Alzheimer's prevention.
They help with bone protection in increasing bone density.
They help with asthma.
But the best part (in my opinion) about apples?
Their energy boosting abilities.
Their energy boosting abilities.
Apparently they're awesome.
An apple in the morning is said to wake you up better, and give you more energy than, a cup of coffee.
It's not because apples have caffeine (which is a myth because apples have 0 grams of caffeine), but it's the sugar in the apple that does the trick.
I hate coffee.
But I'm not a fan of apples either.
I want to make myself like apples.
I want to be able to grab an apple on my way to class and have energy.
Since there's no way I'll ever be grabbing a cup of coffee.
I think it's a texture thing, with the apples.
Because I looove apple sauce.
And apple juice.
But I'm totally turned off by apples.
Blech!
But I think I'm going to start trying apples.
Try and find a kind I like.
I want to like apples.
Because aside from the energy thing,
they're just really good for you!
Jazz.
Granny Smith.
McIntosh.
Red Delicious.
Fuji.
Gala.
Honeycrisp.
And the list goes on & on...
I'm going to make myself like apples.
For real.
I just gotta figure out where to start...
Apples ARE amazing! For a sweetie like You i'd suggest putting a bit of chocolate or caramel on them. Enjoy!
ReplyDeletep.s. Apple Crisp is great too, especially come colder weather.
I suggest starting at dipping an apple *cough granny smith cough* into something...oh like peanut butter! That way you gradually have your taste buds meet that so called "texture" you were talking about! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE APPLES. You know what you should do? Go to the apple orchards this fall and then you can take one bite of every single one out in the orchard and see what you like best. Nothing like fresh-picked apples. An apple a day really does keep the doctor away!
ReplyDeleteWell if you ever come to Yogi when we go apple picking with the kids, you could try at least 12 varities before you buy.
ReplyDeleteWe lived in Washington for 8 years...Fuji and Jazz are my favorite for fresh eating...but only those that are grown in Washington. There's something about the climate there that grows remarkable apples. :)
